Community Visitor Schemes help protect the rights of people with disability. Visitors listen to people and help them speak up about their rights.

Right now, the Schemes are different depending on where you live.

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability recommended changes to make them more consistent across Australia.

We want to know your thoughts about how the Schemes approaches could be more consistent across Australia. Your feedback will help inform work to identify opportunities for nationally consistent approaches to Community Visitor Schemes.

To learn more and share your thoughts, go to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing Citizen Space.

The consultation is open from 9:00am AEST on 14 August 2025 to 12 September 2025.
