The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) supports and values the work of the Infection Control Expert Group (ICEG)

Members of ICEG are practising clinicians and experts in infection control, clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. They have vast experience in:

  • hospital practice and infection prevention and control management
  • public health response to communicable diseases
  • health emergency management
  • the safe handling and containment of biological agents.

Members are appointed to ICEG based on their individual expertise. They do not represent specialist colleges, unions or other organisations. Members volunteer their time.

AHPPC supports and endorses ICEG infection prevention and control advice. ICEG is an expert reference group, providing advice to AHPPC, – not a Commonwealth entity.
