In Australia, an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage.
That means approximately 285 families are affected by miscarriage every day.
Even though miscarriage affects so many, other people often don’t know what to say or do when someone they know experiences it.
So, they say nothing. This can make miscarriage a lonely experience.

These resources are designed to raise awareness of the impacts of miscarriage. To make space for conversation, understanding and compassion.
Miscarriage affects people in many different ways
Miscarriage can affect many people, not just the person who experiences it. This can include partners, family and friends.
Every person’s experience of miscarriage is different. Some feel sadness and grief, others guilt, numbness or even relief.
In most cases it is not known what causes a miscarriage. Sometimes people search for reasons and blame themselves.
Learning more, listening and showing compassion can help people feel supported and less alone.
