National Lung Cancer Screening Program Advisory Group

Role

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program advisory group is one of 2 groups that advises us on the NLCSP.

The role of the advisory group is to consider and advise on:

• program implementation, policy and governance
• key performance indicators
• jurisdictional and key stakeholder agency perspectives
• consultation between the relevant federal and state agencies
• documents considered by the NLCSP Expert Advisory Committee.

Members

The advisory group includes representatives from:

• all state and territory health departments or relevant portfolio agencies
• the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)
• Cancer Australia
• our department.

Meetings

The group meets approximately every 3 months, with items considered out of session if required.

Related committees

The NLCSP Expert Advisory Committee also advises us about the program. The committee is a multidisciplinary group that gives expert advice on best practice lung cancer screening.
