Implementation Plan Advisory Group (IPAG)

The Implementation Plan Advisory Group (IPAG) is no longer active. It worked with the Australian Government to review, assess and guide action under previous the Implementation Plan for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013–2023.

Role

The IPAG’s role is to work in partnership with the Australian Government to monitor and review the previous Implementation Plan for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013–2023 (the implementation plan).

Its members agreed that the cultural determinants and social determinants of health are key priorities to acknowledge in the refresh of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021-2031.

A Health Plan Working Group was established to lead the development of the refreshed National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021-2031. This working group included Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health experts and reported to IPAG.

See National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021-2031 to access the plan.

A new First Nations Health Governance Group is being established to replace the IPAG. The group will ensure First Nations health experts and leaders have a role in decision making and determining priorities on Australian Government health policy and reform. This will include driving improvements under the National Agreement and implementing priorities under the Health Plan.
