Healthy Food Partnership Program – Quick Service Restaurant and Food Service Forum

This forum provides a mechanism for collective, voluntary action to support healthy choices in the quick service and food service sectors.

Role

The forum provides advice on the development, implementation and monitoring of Healthy Food Partnership initiatives that relate to the quick service and food service sectors.

The forum:

  • understands how the food service and quick service restaurant sectors function
  • maps the segments of this sector 
  • understands current industry initiatives for supporting healthier food options
  • considers whether current reformulation targets may be suitable, providing input and feedback into the development of reformulation targets specific to the quick service and food service sectors. 
  • promote the Industry guide to voluntary serving size reduction and how to apply the serving size guidance in this sector
  • considers approaches for including more positive foods and nutrients, such as fibre and vegetables, into foods in the quick service restaurant and food service sector 
  • explores kilojoule labelling on third-party online food delivery applications.
