  • Specialist Training Program

    The Specialist Training Program supports training positions in regional, rural and remote areas, and in private facilities. This helps to improve the skills and distribution of the specialist workforce by giving participants experience of a broader range of healthcare settings.
  • Staged Supply Services Program

    This program supports pharmacists to provide PBS medicines in instalments at the request of the prescriber. This aims to support people who are at risk of drug dependency or who cannot manage their medicines safely.

    Star Ratings can help older people in Australia and their representatives make more informed choices about their aged care. We have developed a Star Ratings system for residential aged care across Australia.
  • Stem Cell Therapies Mission

    The Stem Cell Therapies Mission is investing $150 million to develop innovative, safe and effective treatments to improve health outcomes, in partnership with patients and carers.
  • Stoma Appliance Scheme

    The Stoma Appliance Scheme provides free stoma appliances and products to people who have a stoma (ostomates). This helps them live their lives normally without added financial stress. Find out how the scheme works, how to access it and how to get a product on the schedule.
  • Streamlining General Practice Training

    This initiative simplifies training pathways and helps doctors to gain fellowship of one of Australia’s 2 general practice colleges. It distributes training places to ensure a continued supply of skilled doctors in rural and remote areas. It is part of the Stronger Rural Health Strategy.
