Information on our website may bring up strong feelings and questions for many people. We do not provide direct support services, however the following contacts may be able to help you.

If you need to report a crime, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or contact your local police on 131 444. If you are concerned about a child’s safety, you can also make a report to your state or territory child protection service.

1800RESPECT is a confidential information, counselling and support service. It is available for free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support people impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence. You can contact them by phone or online chat anytime.

Alliance for Forgotten Australians (AFA)

This organisation advocates for people known as Forgotten Australians. They experienced institutional or out-of-home care as children and young people in the last century in Australia. Anyone who has suffered any abuse while in 'care' can contact Alliance for Forgotten Australians (AFA) for support.

Ask Izzy

Ask Izzy is an online Disability Advocacy Finder tool. People with disabilities, carers and their families can use it to search for independent disability advocacy providers in their area. It can connect them with government-funded disability advocacy agencies and support services any time of day.

Bravehearts provide support to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse, children who have problem sexual behaviour and non-offending family members. Available from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (AEST) weekdays (hours may vary on public holidays).

Care Leavers Australasia Network (CLAN) offers support to people who grew up in orphanages, children’s homes, missions and foster care in Australia and overseas. Care leavers and CLAN members can contact the organisation to access a range of free services including support and advocacy.

Find and Connect Support Services

This service helps to connect people who have experienced institutional 'care' in Australia with resources about orphanages, children's homes and other institutions. Forgotten Australians can contact this service to access support from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm in all states and territories.

headspace

headspace is a mental health support service for young people and their families with a focus on early intervention. Young people aged between 12 and 25 experiencing mental health issues can contact them online or via the phone to access support services from 9 am to 1 am, 7 days a week.

In Good Faith Foundation (IGFF)

In Good Faith Foundation (IGFF) is a national charity that advocates for sexual abuse prevention and recovery. Institutional abuse survivors, their families and communities can contact IGFF from Monday to Friday for case management, support and advocacy services via phone or email.

National Association of Services Against Sexual Violence (NASASV) hosts the Australian Sexual Assault Services Directory. People at risk of or who experience sexual violence can use the online directory. They can access prevention and response services by support organisations in their area.

National Redress Scheme

The National Redress Scheme helps people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse. You can contact them from Monday to Friday between 8 am to 5 pm (AEDT) for support or to access counselling, gain a direct personal response and receive a Redress payment.

PartnerSPEAK provides advocacy and support for non-offending partners, family members, friends, or anyone who is affected by a person's involvement in child sexual abuse and child exploitation material. You can contact their Peerline via phone, online chat or community forum for support.
