  • Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)

    The Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) is helping to reduce abuse and neglect of older people receiving aged care services. It expands the responsibilities of Commonwealth-subsidised aged care providers on preventing and managing serious incidents.
  • Severe Behaviour Response Teams (SBRT)

    Severe Behaviour Response Teams (SBRT) provide specialist clinical support and advice to organisations and aged care staff caring for people living with severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
  • Shaping the Future of Paediatric Palliative Care

    Shaping the future of paediatric palliative care aims to increase the skills of the workforce through training and the development of clinical guidelines to improve quality of care for infants, children and young people, and their families.
  • Shared Debt Recovery Scheme

    If we detect incorrect Medicare payments during a compliance audit, the Shared Debt Recovery Scheme allows us to split a debt between the practitioner and the person who manages their billing and claiming.

  • Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme

  • Single Assessment System for aged care

    We are establishing a new Single Assessment System to simplify and improve aged care assessments. The new system makes it easier for older people to access government-funded aged care services as their needs change.
  • Single Employer Model (SEM) Trials

    We are exploring new employment arrangements for general practitioner (GP) trainees to help build our future GP workforce. This model gives GP trainees more attractive employment conditions throughout their training.
  • Special Access Scheme

    The Special Access Scheme allows certain health practitioners to prescribe medicines, medical devices or biologicals that are not included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods to a single patients in some circumstances.
  • Special Approved Placements Program (SAPP)

    The Special Approved Placements Program (SAPP) provides access to Medicare rebates for doctors without fellowship who have to work in metropolitan areas due to exceptional circumstances. The program has closed to new entrants.
