National Interim Update 2024

On 29 September 2023 the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Royal Commission) delivered its Final Report. It included 222 recommendations and set out a vision for an inclusive Australia where people with disability can fulfil their potential.

National Carer Strategy 2024–2034

The National Carer Strategy 2024-2034 sets out a national agenda to support and improve the lives of Australia’s unpaid carers.

National Carer Strategy Action Plan 2024–2027

Actions outlined in this plan will drive initial positive change for carers, laying a foundation for continuous improvement and the development and implementation of future work to ensure the Strategy’s vision is realised.

S44(5) Management of Funding Rule – Summary

The National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act) is the law that sets out how the NDIS works. Section 46 states NDIS funds must be spent on NDIS supports and in line with a participant's plan. The NDIA must make a decision under section 44 about any risks that section 46.

Community Visitors Schemes Review

There are currently 6 Community Visitor Schemes for people with disability operating across Australia, one in each state and territory except Western Australia and Tasmania. Each scheme operates differently and separately from the others.
