About the webinar

We are collaborating with Dementia Training Australia to host an 8-part series designed to help aged care providers and designers understand and apply the National Aged Care Design Principles and Guidelines. It also offers valuable insights for older people, families, and carers on what good design looks like when choosing an aged care home.

The guidelines are structured around four principles and aim to:

  • help older people stay independent as they age
  • create familiar, home-like spaces that are also safe places to work
  • provide easy access to the outdoors
  • support connection with community.

In this first webinar in the series, you will learn about:

  • what design features to look for when choosing a home
  • what helps older people stay independent in a care home
  • how meaningful activities support wellbeing and quality of life.
