What is MyMedicare? It’s a new voluntary patient registration program that’s different to myGov and My health Record. MyMedicare is designed to help connect you with your local health clinic or practice in the Medicare system so you can get better care.

Why should I register? By registering in MyMedicare, you’re helping to provide better access to funding for your doctor or health service, which helps them provide higher quality care for you. Registering in MyMedicare also means you may be able to access other benefits like new longer telephone calls. More funding will also be available for your clinic or practice to provide longer telehealth consultations if you’re under 16, a pensioner or have a concession card.

Does MyMedicare affect my CTG payments or annual free health check? No. If your register in MyMedicare, your closing the Gap Co-payment Program payments will stay the same and you will still receive your 715 Health Check free every year.

Is registering hard? Registering in MyMedicare is easy. You can register through your Medicare online account or Express Plus Medicare mobile app. Or, you can ask your local clinic or practice for a registration form to fill out and they can help you complete your registration. Either way, your details are kept private and safe.
