Australia has a wonderfully diverse population of different communities who speak and understand many different languages.
The Department of Health and Aged Care offers a free translation service for government-subsidised aged care providers across Australia.
As an aged care provider, it's important that people in your care have the information they need, delivered in a way they can understand.
This service will help you to communicate key information to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Translated materials in their preferred language will help them make informed choices about their care.
If you, or the organisation you work for, provide aged care services and need translation services for someone in your care, we will make it simple and efficient for you.
You can request translation of many materials, including:
- handbooks
- service agreements
- welcome brochures
- facility signage
- and much more.
To request a translation, go to diversityagedcarecare.health.gov.au.
Step 1 – fill in the online translation request form.
