COVID-19 vaccination – Video – Elsie from Thursday Island says it’s a no brainer to get the COVID-19 vaccine

Elsie Seriat, proud mum, runner, and graduate from the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, explains how important it is to protect yourself against COVID-19 by getting the vaccine when you can.

I got the COVID-19 vaccine because I believe that’s its important for myself, and also to keep my community and my family safe.

My name is Elsie, born and bred on Thursday Island.

I’m a proud mum, a deadly runner, a graduate from the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.

Being a frequent flyer, having to travel around the country a lot, it was a no-brainer for me to get the vaccination.

And my mum is getting her vaccine done, which I think is really awesome.

I want to encourage everyone, especially the young people in the community that if the vaccination team is around, go down and get vaccinated.

It will keep yourself safe and your family safe.
