What’s really important this year, more than any for us as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, is to go and get our flu shot.
If you’re over 6 months of age, if you’re an older person, and for all of us as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, we can get the flu vaccine. It’s free, it is really really important to do that, and just keep an eye out when it becomes available. And make sure you go down and get your shot.
It won’t protect us from COVID-19, that’s a different virus. But the flu vaccine, the general vaccine, is an important one.
Professor Tom Calma AO advises all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to get their free flu shot this year.
