The Scope of Practice Review examined the barriers and incentives health professionals face working to their full scope of practice in primary care.

This paper proposes options for reform to enable health professionals to work to their full scope of practice and improve primary care. It proposes 8 policy reform options across 3 key themes – Workforce design, development and planning; Legislation and regulation; Funding and payment policy.

This paper is part of the Scope of Practice Review. It focuses on health professionals who currently provide or have the potential to provide primary care. It explores the available evidence about benefits, risks, barriers and enablers to health practitioners working to their full scope of practice.
