In addition to the provisions relating to prohibited benefits, the payment of inducements and similar arrangements may also be illegal under state and territory laws relating to medical practice. Such arrangements may also raise concerns under the restrictive trade practices provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
