This graph shows new cases of COVID-19 in Australia by the date we were notified of them, as well as a cumulative total of all Australian cases.

This bar chart shows the new and cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases by notification received date to the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (NNDSS) at 11:59pm 27 March.

The bottom axis shows the notification date.

The vertical axis shows the number of new COVID-19 cases and is represented by the light blue bars.

The secondary vertical axis shows the total number of COVID-19 cases.

The first cases of COVID-19 were identified in late January in Australia. The number of new cases have rapidly increased since early March.

Interpret the most recently reported new cases shown in the graph with caution as there can be delays in reporting.
