Description:

The National Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Strategic Action Plan aims to improve the quality of life for children and adults who have FASD. The Plan is built around 4 key national priorities:

  1. prevention
  2. screening and diagnosis
  3. support and management
  4. priority groups and people at increased risk.

The FASD Strategic Action Plan 2018-2028 – Three-year implementation review has been published. The review’s aim is to inform the Australian Government if the plan is on-track to achieving its goals.

The Australian Government launched the FASD Strategic Action Plan 2018-2028 on 21 November 2018. The plan proposed creating a National FASD Advisory Group (FASD Advisory Group) to monitor and report on the implementation progress of the plan. The group advises government on emerging issues, trends, opportunities and gaps in the plan.

The FASD Advisory Group was established on 18 September 2019 and consists of representatives from clinical, research, policy and parent/carer sectors.
