Joint statement to clarify the roles and responsibilities for the delivery of health care for people receiving aged care services

Older people have the same right to free, timely and quality care through public hospital and health services as everyone else.

This document supports everyone to understand their responsibilities and work together across the health and aged care systems to manage the health and care needs of older people.  

These documents should be read in conjunction with the 2026-31 Addendum to National Health Reform Agreement 2020-2025, and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
