Health Portfolio Budget Statements 2018–19

Health’s Portfolio Budget Statements (PB Statements) inform Senators and Members of Parliament about how the Government plans to allocate resources. They are budget-related documents under the Appropriation Acts.

The PB Statements help Parliament to understand the purpose of each proposed outcome by providing:

• information — what the Government expects to spend
• explanation — how the expenditure will be managed
• justification — why it’s necessary.
