Guide to Aged Care Law

Register of providers

Under the Aged Care Act, the Commissioner is responsible for maintaining a register of providers.

The Commissioner is responsible for the Provider Register. This has details about providers and workers.

[Chapter 3 – Part 3 – Division 3]

The Provider Register includes:

  • Current and suspended registered providers: information about their organisation, registration status and categories and services.
  • Workers: any banning orders against a responsible person or aged care worker.

The Commissioner will publish parts of the Provider Register to help support transparency and accountability in the aged care system.
