Dose Administration Aid (DAA) Evaluation 2025

The study aimed to assess the DAA Program’s clinical benefits, identify who benefits most, and suggest future directions for ongoing reviews of the DAA program.

In March 2025, researchers at the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics & The University of Sydney School of Pharmacy delivered the final report from this study titled: “Evaluation of the Dose Administration Aid program: collection of data and survey responses from community pharmacists, consumers and carers to inform future directions for the program report”.

The Executive Summary from this report provides an overview of the mixed-methods study undertaken by the researchers which was conducted in three stages:

  1. Literature review on DAAs
  2. Qualitative research through interviews with community pharmacists, consumers and carers
  3. Quantitative and Discrete Choice experiment (DCE) surveys of Australian community pharmacies, consumers and carers.

The report’s recommendations for possible future directions will be considered as part of the ongoing evaluation and review of 8CPA Community Pharmacy Programs.
