These guidelines are provided to assist administrators of disability residential services, public health authorities, healthcare workers, and disability support workers by providing best practice information for the prevention and management of outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (including COVID-19 and influenza) in disability residential services.
These guidelines were developed to create a single unified guidance to support a risk-based approach for the early identification of acute respiratory infection and management of outbreaks, supported by specific resources and tools provided by jurisdictions and guidance from their local public health unit.
These guidelines replace the CDNA national guidelines for the prevention and management of COVID-19 outbreaks in disability residential services.
