The Government will invest in critical infrastructure to support lifesaving health and medical research, building on its $605 million investment to support the provision of vital infrastructure through the Medical Research Future Fund 10 year plan.

The Government will invest $18 million for the new Institute for Regional, Rural and Remote Health and Medical Research in Orange, NSW, which will implement a research program to address the health and medical needs of Australia’s regional, rural and remote communities.

The Government will also invest $10 million to build a new Dementia Centre of Excellence at Curtin University in Perth, WA, to showcase best practice, research, student training and working collaboratively with external stakeholders.
