Budget 2019–20: International Sporting Events – support for the T20 World Cup 2020

The Government will support the International Cricket Council T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. This includes coordinating support across a number of areas – safety and security, taxation, immigration and customs, intellectual property rights protection, event promotion and movement of currency.

For the first time, the women’s and men’s T20 World Cups will be held as standalone events in the same year and in the same country. The women’s event will be held in February and March 2020 and the men’s event in October and November 2020.
