Australian General Practice Training Program – Performance and Outcomes Framework 2026–2030

The AGPT program Performance and Outcomes Framework (the Framework) aims to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and accountability of the AGPT program by providing a structured approach to tracking, measuring and reporting on progress towards the program’s objectives and outcomes.

The AGPT program Performance and Outcomes Framework (the Framework) aims to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and accountability of the AGPT program by providing a structured approach to tracking, measuring and reporting on progress towards the program’s objectives and outcomes.  

The Framework also supports continuous improvement and will inform future decision-making. The Framework takes effect from the 2026 training year and will continue until the end of 2030. 

The department will publish the results of the performance against the whole-of-program performance indicators annually on the department’s website to show progress towards the achievement of the AGPT program objectives and outcomes. 

The Framework will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and appropriately supports the achievement of the AGPT program objectives and outcomes.
