Aged care in MPS: Response to the Australian Government Terms of Reference

This review examines whether delivering aged care services in regional and remote areas through Multi-Purpose Services (MPS) is an effective model. It contains a number of recommendations for the program.

The review found that MPS offer a way to flexibly provide health and aged care needs in regional and remote communities. It looked at:

  • how well the program is achieving its objectives and if there were any unintended outcomes
  • the impact of broader aged care policy and regulatory changes on MPS
  • whether funds are being used effectively.
