Budget at a glance

In the 2019–20 Budget, the Government is investing $104 billion in 2019–20 in health, aged care and sport.

This includes:

  • $20 billion more for health, aged care and sport
  • $6 billion more for Medicare
  • $40 billion for life-saving and life-changing medicines
  • $5 billion more for hospitals
  • $7 billion more for aged care
  • $5 billion for medical research (Medical Research Future Fund)
  • $736.6 million more for mental health
  • $1.4 billion more for preventive health
  • $236 million more for sport and physical activity
