Collection description
We compile each Australian Respiratory Surveillance Report from several data sources. These data sources are used to monitor the:
- distribution of acute respiratory illness activity in the community
- severity of infections
- populations which might be at-risk of severe infections
- impact of acute respiratory illness activity on the community and health system in Australia.
Where available, these surveillance reports may also include data on:
- genomic surveillance and virology
- vaccine effectiveness.
The reports are published each fortnight between April to October, then each month from November to the following March.
