Dhawura nguna dhawura Ngoonawal. Yanggu Ngalamanyin Dhunimanyin. Ngoonawalwari Dhawurawari Dindi Wanggiralidjinyin. This is Ngunawal country. Today, we are meeting together on Ngunawal country. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the elders. You are standing in the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Yaradhang Building. Yaradhang is pronounced Yeh-rah-done. It means eucalyptus in Ngunawal language. This building was named in Ngunawal language after staff consultation revealed a strong preference to partner with Ngunawal elders in recognition that the department’s central office buildings are located here in Canberra on Ngunawal country. Thunderstone Aboriginal Cultural Services is proud to have partnered with the Department of Health and Aged Care to name the Yaradhang building.
