About the Single Assessment System workforce
The Single Assessment System workforce will be empowered and trained to do all the assessments that they need across both in-home and residential aged care.
From late 2024, the Single Assessment System workforce will replace the:
- Regional Assessment Service (RAS)
- Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACATs)
- independent Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) assessors.
About the tender
We held an open tender process from 31 January to 21 March 2024 for organisations with the capacity and capability to deliver aged care assessments for the Single Assessment System.
If you have any questions, email us.
Current workforce
We will continue working with existing RAS, ACAT and independent AN-ACC assessor organisations until the introduction of the Single Assessment System workforce.
We ran a limited tender for organisations to deliver RAS in Victoria until the introduction of the Single Assessment System workforce. Successful organisations are now in operation, ensuring older people in Victoria continue to have access to RAS assessment services.

Next steps
The Request for Tender for the Single Assessment System workforce closed 21 March 2024 and we are in the evaluation stage of the tender process.
We will continue to work with state and territory governments to negotiate jurisdictions’ ongoing role in the Single Assessment System.
