Funding for residential aged care

The Australian Government subsidises residential aged care in Australia by paying subsidies and supplements to registered providers. These are paid on behalf of each person eligible to receive government-subsidised residential aged care.

A registered provider is eligible for subsidies and supplements for the care of a resident if it’s registration is in effect and covers the funded aged care home. The resident must also be approved for on-going or short-term care and have an allocated place.
