Introduction into parliament
On 14 May 2026, the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill was introduced to Parliament.
The Bill will make changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 to protect the NDIS. Changes focus on:
- Clarifying eligibility and the supports the NDIS funds
- Addressing fraud within the NDIS
- Updating governance and administrative arrangements
These changes will put the NDIS back on a sustainable footing now and into the future.

On the 14 May 2026, the Senate referred this Bill for inquiry and report. The Senate inquiry has been extended until 14 August 2026. Read the interim report.
