National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS)

The National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) helps people with diabetes to understand and manage their life with diabetes. It also provides timely, reliable and affordable access to diabetes support services and products.

The NDSS provides subsidised access to the following products for the management of diabetes:

  • syringes and needles
  • blood glucose test strips
  • urine test strips
  • insulin pump consumables
  • continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) products.

The NDSS also provides support services for people with diabetes.

HTA pathway for diabetes-related products

From 1 November 2020, the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) is the designated HTA body to consider diabetes-related products for subsidisation under the NDSS.
