Status

The 2024–25 allocations round was finalised on 2 January 2025.

Results

The 2024–25 round allocated 102 new places to create 3 new and expand 10 existing MPS:

  • 68 new residential aged care places in New South Wales
  • 20 new residential aged care places in Queensland
  • 14 new residential aged care places in South Australia.

We estimate that this will increase annual funding for the MPS program by around $7.5 million.

The places were allocated on a provisional basis and will come into effect once the relevant provider has demonstrated they are ready to deliver services using the places(s).

The table below provides the details of the places that will be allocated to existing MPS. New MPS will be announced subsequently along with relevant state governments.
