CHSP extension
The CHSP is currently funded from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2027.
The CHSP has been extended for another two years to 30 June 2029.
Information about the 2027-29 funding agreement extension will be available shortly.
CHSP indexation
Annual indexation applies to CHSP funding.
2025–27 CHSP grant agreements are subject to Wage Cost Indices indexation. The CHSP is mapped to WCI 3.
2.3% was applied for 2025–26 which carried through to 2026-27.
2.8% will be applied for 2026–27. 100% of grant funds for all funded services will receive WCI 3 indexation.
The 2026-27 indexation will be applied to funding agreements from November 2026. A back payment from 1 July 2026 to the commencement of the indexed payments will be made. Providers will be issued with a Notice of Change to the grant agreement when the indexation process has been completed.
Aged Care Work Value Case
As part of the 2025-26 Budget, the Australian Government announced funding of $30.1 million to support CHSP providers to meet the cost of award wage increases for aged care workers. This relates to the Fair Work Commission’s Stage 3 decision under the Aged Care Work Value Case and those aged care workers whose award wages increased from 1 January 2025 and 1 October 2025.
The Australian Government also supported the Fair Work Commission’s 6 December 2024 decision in the Aged Care Work Value Case for further increases to award wages for registered and enrolled nurses working in aged care.
Funding has been provided through an uplift in indexation to support both of these award wage increases. CHSP providers funded in 2025-27 for nursing received a Notice of Change from 1 October 2025 and 1 August 2026. This is in addition to their indexation boost from 1 March 2025.
