31 October 2025 - The new Act started on 1 November 2025 and responds to issues facing older people, aged care providers, workers and the broader sector. It puts the rights of older people at the centre of the aged care system.

8 September 2025 - Under this program, Aboriginal health services (AHSs) in remote areas can order Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) medicines from approved suppliers. The AHSs can then provide these medicines to their patients for free. To get reimbursed, the suppliers submit a payment claim to Services Australia.

1 May 2026 - The Doctor Stream promotes careers in rural medicine by giving doctors financial incentives to practise in regional, rural and remote communities.

6 June 2025 - The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides free emergency aeromedical evacuations and healthcare services for people living in rural and remote communities. This is often where no other health services are available. We have funded the RFDS since the 1930s.
