Saturday 14 October is International Allied Health Professions Day. This year the theme is Stronger Together, focusing on the value of multidisciplinary care in achieving better results for patients.
Allied Health Professions Day celebrates the contribution and commitment of allied health professionals as they work to improve the health and wellbeing of their communities.
Allied health is the second-largest clinical workforce in Australia and the largest health workforce in primary care. Allied health professionals also provide services in aged and veterans’ care, disability and social services, and education.
We recognise the important work of allied health professionals, alongside their nursing and medical colleagues. Whether as a solo practitioner or working in multidisciplinary teams, allied health professionals support all-round patient-focused care.
To mark Allied Health Professions Day, we encourage you to watch NSW Health’s video Allied Health – With you every step of the way. NSW Health produced this video with its talented staff to tell the Allied Health Story to the wider community.
