Stakeholder webinar on the Districts of Workforce Shortage (DWS) for specialists

On behalf of the Distribution Advisory Group (DAG), we are presenting a webinar on proposed changes to the way DWS locations are calculated.

Audience:
Health sector

The webinar will focus on a set of draft principles to facilitate updating the DWS. It will be held in early March 2021.

The DWS for specialists is a workforce classification system to support under-serviced communities. DWS status enables the recruitment of doctors with location restrictions in areas of workforce shortage.

There will be an opportunity for invited stakeholder groups to ask questions following the presentation. This session is specifically for nominated representatives of invited specialist groups, peak bodies, jurisdictions and training colleges.

The DAG provides independent expert advice on the use of geographic distribution systems to the Australian Government and is reviewing the DWS system. All stakeholder feedback will be considered by the DAG.
