Cardiac electronic implantable devices (CIED) on the Prescribed List will have a proportion of their benefits reduced by 20% of the gap on 1 July 2025. These reductions will only be applied to the device component of the PL benefit (estimated at 56.3%).

In line with the Memorandum of Understanding and reductions to other Part A devices, the third and final 20% reduction of the gap was calculated using the 2022/23  weighted average price of a CIED in the public hospital system.

To assist stakeholders in preparing their systems with the adjusted benefits, we have published the adjusted CIED PL benefits ahead of publication of the July 2025 PL.

There will be no reductions to the technical support services component of the CIED PL benefit on 1 July 2025.
