The Delegate for the Minister for Disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Minister for Health and Ageing has made the Private Health Insurance (Medical Devices and Human Tissue Products) Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2026 (the Amendment MDHTP Rules).
The Amendment MDHTP Rules amend the Private Health Insurance (Medical Devices and Human Tissue Products) Rules (No. 1) 2026 (registered on 19 February 2026) to update 58 billing codes in Part B that contained both dollars and cents. All billing codes are now shown in whole dollar values.
The Amendment MDHTP Rules were registered on the Federal Register of Legislation on 24 March 2026 and will be effective from 27 March 2026.
The Part B Excel file (Part B – All human tissue products) on the PL webpage has been updated to reflect this. Please note that all other files remain unchanged as they reflected the correct Prescribed List benefits in whole dollars.
