PHI 13/21 Private Health Insurance Legislation Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2021

The Private Health Insurance Legislation Amendment Rules (No. 1) 2021 (the Amendment Rules) were registered on the Federal Register of Legislation on 25 February 2021 and commence on 1 March 2021.

The Amendment Rules effect changes to Private Health Insurance Rules to classify new and amended MBS items commencing 1 March 2021, and remove deleted items where appropriate, in the:

  • Private Health Insurance (Benefit Requirement) Rules 2011
    • Schedule 1 for Type A-Surgical and Schedule 3 for Type B non-band specific procedure type changes; and,
  • Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Rules 2015
    • Schedule 5 Clinical categories list.
