The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is spreading the message to all Australians that on National Condom Day, and any other day, it is important that sexually transmitted infections (STI) checks are done, and there’s no shame in asking for one.
Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHOs) do great work in supporting and educating communities on practising safe and consensual sex. ACCHOs across Australia provide free and confidential health checks.
This year, NACCHO was driving a social media campaign encouraging everyone to share creative posts or messages and spread the safe sex message. The aim was to keep raising awareness around practising safe sex and condom use.
One of the creative videos rolled out by Her Rules Her Game that celebrates the partnership between Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) and West Kimberley Women’s Football League was great inspiration to drive more of such campaigns.
