$66 million for genomics research into serious diseases and common chronic conditions

The Australian Government has announced $66 million for 25 genomic research projects that will make a real difference to people’s lives. Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

Each project will receive up to $3 million for research that will:

  • improve testing and diagnosis for many diseases such as Parkinson’s and glaucoma
  • reduce unnecessary interventions and health care costs.

Funding is from the MRFF’s Genomics Health Futures Mission.
