The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) is releasing the Low Back Pain Clinical Care Standard. The Standard will launch 1 September 2022 at 12:00pm AEST.
At the launch, a panel of health professionals will discuss effective methods to manage the early stages of low back pain. The panel will also discuss how to address the contributing factors of back pain, effective health communication and appropriate referral of the condition.
The Department encourages clinicians that specialise in treating the early stages of low back pain to attend the webcast.
Respected broadcaster Geraldine Doogue AO is hosting the expert panel discussion on what the standard means for clinicians.
Panellists include:
- Commission Clinical Director Associate Professor Liz Marles
- Musculoskeletal physiotherapist Professor Peter O’Sullivan
- Pain management expert and clinical psychologist, Professor Michael Nicholas
- Emergency physician Dr James Edwards
