The ‘Get the facts about immunisation’ campaign has launched to encourage Australian parents and carers to get their kids vaccinated.

Research shows that when people are fully informed about the benefits of vaccination, they are more likely to vaccinate.

While immunisation rates in Australia are already high, with 93% of 5-year-old children fully vaccinated, there are some areas where the immunisation rate is too low. It is these pockets of low coverage which pose risks to the community, especially to people:

  • who can’t be vaccinated, like newborns
  • with certain medical conditions.

The 6-week campaign reaches parents through the online communication channels they prefer, such as social media. Materials such as posters and brochures have also been developed to support the campaign.
