No matter where you live, whether you’re up north in the sun, or down south with the cold, it is recommended that some people receive a winter dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

No matter where you live, whether you’re up north in the sun, or down south with the cold, it is recommended that the following people receive a winter dose of the COVID-19 vaccine:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and over
  • severely immunocompromised
  • people aged 16-64 and with a medical condition that increases the risk of severe COVID-19 illness
  • people aged 16 to 64 with disability with significant or complex health needs or multiple comorbidities which increases risk of severe illness.
  • residents of aged care or disability care facilities.

You can get your COVID-19 vaccines winter dose if it has been at least 4 months since your booster dose. If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, it is recommended that you wait 3 months from when you tested positive for COVID-19 before getting your next COVID-19 vaccine dose.

Booster doses are free for everyone and available at doctors, health clinics and pharmacies.
