$7 million for research into neurofibromatosis

The Australian Government is providing $7 million through the Medical Research Future Fund for research into neurofibromatosis.

Neurofibromatosis is a devastating condition that can cause cancer, blindness, deafness and chronic pain. It is more common in children and young adults. While there is currently no cure, treatments can help manage this condition.

The Emerging Priorities and Consumer-Driven Research initiative will support research into improved patient care, treatments and clinical practice.
