$5.5 million for clinical trials to treat low-survival breast cancers

The Australian Government has announced Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) support for clinical trials to treat low-survival breast cancer.

Two projects will share $5.5 million from Stream 2 of the 2021 Rare Cancers, Rare Diseases and Unmet Need grant opportunity under the MRFF’s Clinical Trials Activity initiative.

Researchers will:

  • evaluate new therapies for women with breast cancer under 45 years of age
  • test a new therapy for treatment resistant triple-negative breast cancer.
